Coaching / Training
fecher designs and holds training workshops and coaching sessions on how to handle source code, databases and reporting tools. Subjects dealt with range from development languages and environments, source-code management and improvement and how to carry out unit tests. The database training focuses on SqlBase and SQL server. The reporting tools training workshops focus on migrations to Crystal Reports, List & Label and Reporting Services.
Workshops
fecher's training workshops, which are held at regular intervals, are intended for software developers and architects of complex business applications looking to modernize or further develop their code basis with current software engineering techniques. Refactoring a .NET application
Migrated .NET applications utilize an optimized class library containing a number of 4GL language constructs and objects that simplify development. A migration does not however change the existing, frequently dual-layer, architecture of a client-server application. This workshop will provide you with concepts and tools that can prepare the architecture for further use in web-services, create new interfaces using ASP.NET or WPF and increase the maintainability of the code.
Target group: Experienced .NET developers / architects

Unit Tests and Test-driven Software Development (TDD)
At all software development stages, testing costs comprise 30% to 50% of total costs. The amount of coverage using functional testing methods is however still frequently very low. Inarguably, software developers should be writing higher-quality code and should be testing it at a technical level. Unit testing is a standardized procedure that makes it possible to test objects and components, even during the development phase. This also includes the GUIs. In this workshop, participants will learn the concepts and methods as well as the tools available in the market. This workshop is ideal to combine with "Software development quality management".

Using the Visual Web GUI class library to implement high-performance web applications
Visual Web GUI (VWG) is a powerful class library which can be used to develop a .NET desktop application into a web-application based on DHTML. Hereby, .NET WinForms, a proven technology, remains the technical model for developing the visual interfaces. The resulting DHTML/Ajax applications are supported by all common browsers and are not any more complex to operate than the corresponding desktop applications. This workshop covers the basics of Visual Web GUI and provides numerous examples of how to convert WinForms applications to VWG.
Target group: Experienced .NET WinForm developers with an understanding of the basic principles of JavaScript
